The list, featuring 25 must-see destinations and travel experiences for 2020, features 17 that were nominated, researched, reported and written about in collaboration with National Geographic Traveler magazine’s international editorial teams.
Broken down into four categories – Culture, City, Nature, and Adventure – there are a number of familiar destinations included.
Praised for its cuisine, the Asturias region in Spain has been included in the Culture category alongside a number of destinations including Guizhou Province (China) and Maya in Guatemala.
In the City category are a wealth of different cities from across the world ranging from Philadelphia in the USA to Mostar in Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Notably, the only UK entry is Wales Way, included in the Adventure category.
Celebrating its centennial year in 2019 since first being designated as a National Park, the Grand Canyon also makes National Geographic’s 2020 list.
