Board Magellan for a Bank Holiday cruise from Dundee into the Baltic. Sail east to some of the Baltic’s less-known but still lovely locations. On the Danish island of Bornholm you’ll have time to stroll Ronne’s pretty streets of half-timbered houses, and around lively St Torv market. Further north, on the Swedish island of Gotland, you’ll find Visby’s wooden cottages and Gothic churches still protected by the town’s medieval walls. Cross to mainland Sweden for the chance to explore Stockholm’s network of interconnected islands, then sail south across the open water to Klaipeda in Lithuania and to Gdansk – one of Poland’s most unexpectedly beautiful cities.
As Magellan cruises through the Danish Archipelago you’ll be able to visit Copenhagen on an optional shore excursion, followed almost immediately by the opportunity to head into the heart of Germany from Warnemunde on an optional shore excursion to Berlin.

Make your way to Dundee and board Magellan before she sets sail this evening.
Day 2 – At sea
Spend today relaxing, and getting to know the ship, her crew and your fellow passengers.
Day 3 – Kalundborg, Denmark
The pretty little port-city of Kalundborg nestles beneath the five-spired shadow of the Church of Our Lady on the west coast of Zealand, almost exactly opposite Copenhagen on Zealand’s east coast. As Magellan calls here you’ll have the chance to join an optional shore excursion taking you across the island to stroll the Danish capital’s stylish streets and the sculpted walkways of the Tivoli Gardens, see the bronze figure of the Little Mermaid beside the harbour and perhaps stop for a drink at one of Nyhavn’s many waterside bars.
Day 4 – Warnemunde, Germany
This morning Magellan arrives in Warnemunde. Discover the port’s charming gabled houses and historic Neuer Markt, or join the optional excursion to Berlin to explore the city’s highlights – from the Brandenburg Gate and the 1926 Olympic Stadium to Hitler’s Bunker and Checkpoint Charlie.
Day 5 – Ronne, Denmark
Today we visit the pretty port-town of Ronne, situated on the Danish island of Bornholm. This attractive town is a hugely popular destination for Scandinavian visitors. Discover St Torv market and the half-timbered and newer brick-built houses, or visit the fascinating museum that showcases the island’s history of grandfather-clock-making.
Day 6 – Visby, Sweden
Magellan’s second Baltic island call is at the Swedish island of Gotland. Discover its UNESCO-listed capital, Visby, a medieval treasure trove of wooden cottages, cobbled streets and Gothic churches, or head out of the town to explore a pristine land of tranquil countryside and fine beaches.
Day 7 – Nynashamn, Sweden
Magellan will call at Nynashamn, this morning, and you’ll have the chance to head to Stockholm on an optional shore excursion. Best explored on foot, the Swedish capital spans 14 islets and boasts a wonderful mix of historic sights and fine city parks. Its ancient heart is Gamla Stan, a beguiling labyrinth of cobbled streets, shops, cafes and restaurants.
Day 8 – Klaipeda, Lithuania
Today Magellan reaches Klaipeda, Lithuania’s third-largest city. Discover its unspoilt old town of half-timbered houses, cafes and gift shops, or choose to venture further afield to see the vast sand dunes of the Curonian Spit National Park.
Day 9 – Gdansk, Poland
Step ashore in Gdansk, one of Poland’s most sparkling jewels, to see its medieval centre and its bustling waterfront. See towering, red-brick St Mary’s Church and explore the shops and cafes along colourful Long Market.
Days 10-11 – At sea
Spend two days relaxing on board.
Day 12 – Newcastle, England
Newcastle was once among the most vibrant centres of the British Industrial Revolution, and has now evolved into one of England’s most energetic and exciting cities. Some of your newfound friends will disembark and finish their journey here, and you’ll have some time to explore before beginning the final leg of your cruise.
Day 13 – Arrive back at Dundee
Bid farewell to Magellan and all your fellow travellers, today, as you disembark at the end of your cruise.
