As part of your vacation, we’ll arrange day trips to some of the most interesting historical sites in the area.

Take a full day trip to Bologna, considered by many to be the food capital of Italy, and explore the fantastic traditional food markets and the Gelato Museum on a guided walking tour.

We’ll also visit the world’s oldest republic, San Marino; and the last capital of the western Roman Empire, Ravenna.

During your time at leisure, sun worshipers can enjoy the beautiful beaches of Italy’s Adriatic coast, or you can ask your guide for recommendations of local attractions and activities that would interest you.

Day 1 – Travel to Italy

Upon arrival in Bologna, you will be met by our local representative and transferred by coach to your hotel located in Gabicce Mare on Italy’s Adriatic Coast.

Day 2 – At Leisure

Today is free to enjoy as you please. Ask your guide to recommend some places of interest for you according to your tastes.

Day 3 – Ravenna

Today you will enjoy a full day excursion to Ravenna, most famous for its extensive Christian & Byzantine mosaics with UNESCO world heritage status. Enjoy a guided walking tour of this historic city and last capital of the western Roman Empire before an afternoon at leisure for sightseeing and shopping of your choice.

Day 4 – At Leisure or Optional Excursion

Enjoy another day at leisure in the lovely coastal town of Gabicce Mare, and its surroundings. Your guide will be happy to suggest attractions and sightseeing activities to suit your interests.

Enjoy an optional full day excursion to include the walled hilltop village of Urbino and visit the coastal resort of Pesaro for a walking tour.

Day 5 – Bologna

Depart your hotel by coach to begin your full day excursion to Bologna, one of Italy’s most beautiful cities. Begin your visit with a walking tour of the traditional food markets which the Emilia Romagna region of Italy is famous for before enjoying some free time at leisure. In the afternoon join your guide for a walking tour around the historic centre where sights include Piazza Maggiore with Neptune’s fountain and St Petronio’s Basilica. Transfer back to your hotel in the afternoon with a visit to the Gelato Museum included on route.

Day 6 – At Leisure

Today you can do as you wish; whether relaxing in the hotel, a bit of shopping or some more sightseeing. Why not take a stroll on the beach or enjoy an al fresco lunch or sip a glass of prosecco as you look out onto the Adriatic. As always, our expert guide will be available to suggest local attractions and activities.

Day 7 – San Marino

Following breakfast depart your hotel for an excursion to the Republic of San Marino, the oldest republic in the world! Enjoy a guided walking tour as you explore hilly San Marino’s narrow, quirky streets and historic sights before taking a cable car to the top of Mount Titano offering spectacular views of the countryside.

Day 8 – Return Home

Time to say ‘arrivederci’ to Italy. Transfer from your hotel, with guide assistance, for your flight home.
